Stunning 2 bed house sleeps 4 in beautiful tuscan countryside. The house combines a sense of history with all the features which go to make this idea of modern living. The whole property has central heating for the colder months and for the chilly Spring and Autumn evenings, we have a wood fire. There is wireless internet access and this is provided without charge subject to fair usage. We feel that we may provide a real opportunity for you to keep in touch with your work and regular life while basking and relaxing in the Tuscan Countryside. There is a beautifully fitted kitchen with ample utensils, crockery, cutlery etc. Even though it is great to sample Tuscan food in local restaurants, we appreciate how much it can be part of the holiday to buy local ingredients and create your own Tuscan Meals. Once you have prepared your meals, enjoy eating them outside on your beautiful and private terrace The main and most imposing feature of this room is the hugely magnificent Tuscan fireplace. Outside is beautiful with a large and secluded garden where you can relax and enjoy the fantastic views. Central is of course the pool and sun terraces – our guests love to return after a day of sightseeing and have a relaxing and refreshing swim – indeed, so relaxing is the garden that many people are reluctant to leave and spend house and prefer to laze the day away in the shade of an olive tree while enjoying the surroundings. Ample garden furniture is provided. The grounds are full of interesting features, ancient old walls, olive trees, vines – not so long ago, the garden was producing its own wine. Close to the front door, here is a huge vine which produces beautiful table grapes. All the hard terraces are either in Tuscan ‘cotto’ or natural stone.

We have stayed in this house twice - last autumn and this October 2009. The views are fantastic, right across the valley to the mountains.
We visited Lucca, with its walls, fell in love with Florence and Sienna - all these beautiful places with their own magic within easy reach of this comfortable, homely house. We had meals on the terrace and drinks round the pool. There are many places to eat out in Poppi or Arezzo and a great pizza in Strada - take your pick! The autumn colours were stunning and collecting chestnuts to roast on the log burner fabulous! I can certainly recommend this house, it is full of Italian charm in a location that opens up so many places in Italy; it has it's own pool and is in an idyllic setting. Deryl the owner is helpful and happy to advise on your holiday, from flights to car hire to places to visit and eat. Thank you Deryl and Richard, we look forward to our next visit. We stayed here in May 2009 and had a lovely week. The property was great as it offered a good base from which to visit many of the cultural and historic attractions, and the pool in the afternoons was a definate hit with our two young children.
The area is much less touristy than many areas of Tuscany, we rarely heard a british voice all week, yet there is a good supermarket a short drive away and some nice restaurants - the Torricella offers fantastic views of Poppi, particularly at sunset. The house suited our family well with two bedrooms a well equiped good sized kitchen, a dining room and lounge upstairs with TV and DVD player which was also helpful at the end of the day with the children. Deryl (the owner) is helpful when organising and booking the accomodation and has knowledgeable english speaking family close by in the valley who ensure your holiday runs well. We enjoyed it so much that we are returning in 2010!! Recommended for: Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
